From: Laura choco630@hotmail.com Subject: "sexism, sexism, sexism" ...that's all we ever hear Date: Tue, 24 Oct 2000 I am a woman in a college English class. It seems like almost every class I've taken that isn't math or science, there is a discussion of sexism and feminist issues. I am so sick of hearing the same thing over and over again, when we could be discussing more relevant topics. There may still be a few issues out there that should be dealt with, but now, it seems like there is at least as much discrimination against men as there is against women. I don't think we will ever find a balance where both men and women will be happy. And I really don't see the point of continuously discussing such subjects in college English classes. Talking about sexism in class will not change anything, and it's not like we're not all aware of these issues. I think it would be better if we weren't so sensitive to everything.

The CEO/President is a man, however, three of the four Vice Presidents are
women. The CFO is a woman, so do the the Plant Operation Manager and the
Information System Manager.
Women set out to correct what they call inequality, but who is keeping score
to ensure that the pendulum does not swing too far to the other side. At the
rate we are handing over society to women, soon we will be at their mercy.
For example, those men among us who chose to marry are already at their
mercy. They have been able to pass laws that affect men negatively related to
divorce and child custody.
Most men are not running there homes, but running around them. They allow
their wives to use charm to get their way 100 percent of the times. If they
don't comply, they use guilt and divorce threats to get them in line. Recent,
I went to a financial web site and read some advise posted for women planning
to divorce their husbands. One of them was that a wife should wait until the
marriage is ten years if possible before the divorce because she could share
in his social security benefits. In other words, set him up. Take a look at
the sexual harassment law, it was set up to go after men. Even the author of
it, a women, is disappointed in how it turned out. A woman could lead a man
on and if he does not keep any evidence, he could be in trouble of loosing
his job. Gone are the days when men run their houses; women are talking about
equal rights, whatever that means. From a woman's perspective, a man could
spend his every cent while she has hers in the bank, there is not unequal
about it, but if he decides to not spend she says he is no good.
There is a dangerous trend; women are outnumbering men in college and among
those who vote. This means that in time, there will be more highly educate
women than men and that they will be deterring our fate at the polls. Women
already outnumber men at middle management and the are making inroads at
upper management. Who is keeping tab to ensure they don't take over?
We need to take society back and reverse some of these trends. It is our sons
that are going to suffer at their hands. Let's rebuild the society so they
can grow up as real men. After all, men are the architects of society. We
discovered and developed all the corner stones. Women do play an important
role but they should not transform it into their liking at the expense of men.
